I´m back from EdCon.
Will go to bed immediately and spill stories (do not expect too many photos from me :(() over the next couple of days when I have the time.
I miss it, I had great fun and I will probably walk funny for the rest of the week.

For those of you who don´t know already. I´ve been (more or less forcefully) talked into going to EdCon next Friday.I realized while talking about it, that I could easily take the days off and the money wasn´t a problem anymore either, so I really didn´t have an excuse not to show up and gods, now I AM SO EXCITED! AND HAPPY!
And my head is spinning with all the things I still need to organize and pack and especially on how exactly I plan on surviving to work from 5 am to 6 pm then attend a birthday party on Thursday next week and then leave by train at half past midnight on Friday, arrive in Bonn at eight am and still be up for the Friday of awesome at Fedcon,lol. I haven´t figured that out yet but I bet the solution involves skipping work at least once,lmao. ;-P

... I went to my brother´s 5th birthday last weekend. The weather wasn´t exactly nice but it wasn´t freezing either, so we could sit outside for at least a bit in the evening and watch the stars, drink wine(not my brother, of course) and chat at the bonfire.
I try to convince myself it was lovely and that it doesn´t upset me too much that I couldn´t go to see Bear :-(

Hi all,
it´s like 4 am!*yawn*
I´m leaving now to catch my flight to London.
I´ll be spending the day there probably shopping and sightseeing and taking excessive amounts of photos.
Tonight I´m going to arrive in Bournemouth so I can get a good night´s sleep before FRIDAY happens ;-)

I am soooooooooooo nervous.
Can´t wait to meet some of you there!

Here it is, the inevitable, incoherent and uncalled-for picspam/review of "A Disquiet Follows My Soul".
I need to say, that at this point, if I were not already a fan of the show,I don´t know if I´d watch it.Not because it´s bad, in my opinion it´s never been better, but because it´s brutal and harsh and none of the characters are very likeable at the moment, the rest of them are gonna die and you wouldn´t want to get invested in them either.
Story-wise a lot of limits have to be pushed and at the moment there is not even a point to the whole thing ( with the point always having been Earth).

Only 2 more days until the new and final episodes and I´m entering these final hours with very mixed feelings. I have never before cared so much about a TV show, never before been so engaged in every aspect of it and I can say that for a long time , probably nothing will meet the new standard Battlestar Galactica has set and I can´t imagine another show that could bring so much joy to my life.

It is all about the characters, not the (incredibly well done) special effects, it´s about the world that is created through these characters that teaches us something about ourselves, makes us root for the bad guys if there really are any and look at the basic aspects of life from a different angle. Religion, loyalty, faith, friendship, politics and family and the mechanics behind it, i will miss the discussions and speculations, the next unexpected plot twist.

I am very sad to see quality like that leaving the small screen and I am sad to let go of a set of characters that I have become very attached to, as well as the actors and producers and writers , who have shared this experience with us on almost personal levels throughout the years. It feels a little bit like letting go of part of your family as stupid as that sounds and although I am very glad there will be a final act, a definite end to the saga and although I CANNOT wait to see how it ends for all of them I am dreading this moment like nothing else at this time.

As a kind of goodbye and welcome to the final hours of BSG I decided to do a picspam and I decided to do a picspam about the human gestures of the past 4 seasons, the kissing, the touching, the holding and the hugging ( the hugging was always the best ! ) and the occasional making out ;D This way, I intended not only to have a more uplifting tribute to my favourite show but also to put a stress on what is essential in the Battlestar universe, the people.

They were filled with success and disappointments, laughter, tears and some things that can´t even be categorized, but mostly they were quiet and beautiful. I moved to a new town, had a hard time letting go of my old life. I´ve worked on my flaws and braved new tasks that I didn´t feel quite prepared for but did them anyway. I tried to quit smoking and failed, well, I´ll try again. I gained a lot of weight, not that it matters that much to me but I ordered me an exercise machine yesterday, lol. I don´t like going to the gym.

I´ve felt better compared to 2007, also physically, although right now I´m so terribly sick, I could barely move the last two days, lol.
This will be the first New Year´s Eve for me that I won´t spend partying till dawn :( I´m also not braving the masses to watch the fireworks :( I´m afraid I would just faint.

Watch out for one of the largest New Year´s Eve parties in Berlin, that´s where I won´t be,lol.

It´s all true...plus....I really, really want a better job ;D Fingers crossed, lol.

...Christmas....and I´m off soon to my mother. So this is my post to recount all the things that have happened during these past weeks and of course to wish all of you MERRY CHRISTMAS / Happy Holidays !!!
